The damage really doesn't matter in a control deck. Tana at least contributes a bit of sac fodder but Vial Smasher doesn't really do anything. I'm not sure if Tana Vial Smasher are well suited to lead this kind of deck. And you can try to keep the board empty with stuff like ]. You can destroy noncreature permanents by repeatedly saccing and reanimating ] or ]. I'd probably build an aristocratsy, graveyard focused deck. Therefore I would try to rely on repeatable effects. So if the threats in your meta don't win the game immediately but rather leave you time to interact (even if it's just at instant speed) jund control is possible.ġfor1 removal isn't very good in multiplayer. What jund is good at is removing all kinds of permanents, especially creatures. And being a control deck it will drag out the game giving your opponents plenty of time to get to those wincons. Jund doesn't have the stack interaction to counter these spells nor the stax to prevent them from being played. If these wincons exist in your meta you can't play jund control. There are wincons in edh that don't die to spot removal like a massive X spell or etb stuff like consult thoracle. Whether or not jund control is even possible depends on your meta. The main advise id give to you if you plan to go down this route is to use a good deal of protection for your own board state as you have very little on the stack interaction and people are gonna be targeting your engine pieces and commander. I would suggest ] as this will give you the tools to interact with your opponents symmetrically and often while building into a burn or death ball win condition. If you are trying to build a jund control deck out of cards you already own then sadly this is likely to fail miserably as you are gonna need to acquire some very specific cards that have no redundancy in this color wedge. Failing those things jund doesn't offer many ways to accumulate card advantage without being aggressive. I think the best way for a deck in this color to lock down the game is with land destruction or forced discard, both of which are taboo to many. Jund does not have access to very good tools for control, this is probably a great example of where the color pie is still doing its thing, despite the many claiming the color pie is meaningless now.
